Newcomers Activities

For our Newcomer guests, our Baronial Chatelaine Lord XXX will have Gold Key (loaner garb) available at the gate.

Is This Your First Event?

An SCA event is a day or several days (usually a weekend) which is based on a medieval theme. At these events, there are a variety of activities often including fighting, feasting, music, dance, as well as displays of medieval arts and crafts (which we call Arts and Sciences).

Unlike Renaissance Faires, which are open to the public, everyone at an SCA event is required to participate by making a reasonable attempt at wearing pre-17th century clothing. If you don't have clothes to wear, however, don't be discouraged. We will have medieval clothes available for you to borrow for your first event.

Before you arrive, it is a good idea to contact the Chatelaine (officer in charge of helping out newcomers) for either your local group or the Barony of Stierbach (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) in order to get a better idea of what to expect.

We hope to see you there!
